Probiozym Probiozym - A probiotic for protein intolerance and disturbed gut flora Probiozym was originally developed for individuals with autism, ADHD and other conditions involving protein intolerance. Feedback from users suggest that other groups may benefit even more from the product. It seems to be particularly useful in Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Crohn's disease and against abdominal problems caused by antibiotics. A number of patients with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome also benefit from Probiozym. Gastrointestinal problems and disturbed gut flora is common in patients with protein intolerance. To supplement with bacteria capable of restoring a normal gut flora may therefore be beneficial for these patients. We do not know whether Probiozym is effective enough to replace a diet, which is why we recomment patients on diets to continue these. The bacterial strains Probiozym consists of four different strains of lactic acid bacteria: - Lactobacillus rhamnosus NEU 427 - Lactobacillus crispatus NEU 458 - Lactobacillus acidophilus - Bifidobacterium bifidum   The two first strains are both isolated from healthy humans, and exhibit high levels of peptidases capable of breaking down pathogenic peptides from casein and gluten. There is reason to believe that the strains are highly competitive towards pathogenic bacteria, mainly due to their adhesive properties (the ability to stick to the mucosal surface and multiply there). Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum have been shown to inactivate Clostridium toxins in clinical trials. Clostridia seem to play a major role in the disturbed gut flora of autistic children. Dosage and storage In protein intolerance involving casein or gluten, Probiozym should be used as a supplement in combination with diet. We recommend 2 capsules per day, for example one at breakfast and one at dinner. The capsules should be taken while eating. If swallowing the capsules is difficult, you can open the capsules and mix the powder with food or drink. If so, make sure that the food/drink you mix it with is no hotter than 37°C (body temperature). Keep the bottle refrigerated during long term storage.
